100% Eiderdown fill. The world’s most exclusive duvet; fit for Royalty
Exclusively made to order, these Eiderdowns are the genuine article, with down handpicked from fledged nests. What a way to sleep.
So you want to really, really, really treat yourself? Look no futher than Eiderdown. It’s one of the world’s rarest materials and makes for a truly luxurious duvet. But its scarcity isn’t the only thing that makes it so special. Those plucky little Eider ducks breed in one of the harshest climates in the world, which means their down has evolved to be especially insulating. And it’s that light-as-air and insulating down that creates such ótrúlegur duvets. (That’s Icelandic for “incredible” btw.)
Features & Facts

Hand-collected Eiderdown
Filled with 100% genuine Eiderdown, one of the world’s rarest natural materials. 3/4s of the world’s Eiderdown is collected from Iceland. The mother Eider ducks pluck the soft down from their breast to insulate their eggs as they incubate. Once the chicks have fledged and nest is no longer needed, the Eiderdown is hand-collected before being hand-cleaned and used as Eiderdown fill. -
An ancient art
Eiderdown is prized for its delicate clusters of down that flex and lock together. It’s the way the down clusters lock together like Velcro that traps warm air so effectively. Eiderdown collection is an ancient craft; remnants of Eiderdown have been found in burial sites from the time of the Vikings. -
Collected with care
Eider ducks are an endangered species and the collection of Eiderdown supports and protects the species. Their nesting sites are well-protected and the wild birds are treated with reverence by the Eiderdown collectors. -

Look & Feel
- Breathable & warm
The Soak&Sleep Eiderdown duvet is available in a 9-tog warmth. That’s because Eiderdown is so insulating and you simply won’t need anything heavier. As Eiderdown is so breathable and light, a 9-tog Eiderdown will suit most sleepers on all but the warmest nights.
- Light & airy
The light-as-air down keeps you warm with minimal weight.
- Pure silk casing
Wrapped in a smooth and breathable 27 momme pure silk case to complement the luxury of this exception duvet fill.
- Made to Last
After careful hand-cleaning, the down clusters are encased in pure silk and sewn through for an even distribution throughout the Eiderdown. The Eiderdown is then finished with piped edges for extra durability.
Care
Not all duvets are created the same therefore, based in their inner and outer characteristics, they need to be cared for differently. Care properly for your duvet and it will recharge you for many years to come. Here is what you need to do in order to make the most out your Eiderdown duvet:
- 1
Protection is key
Use a duvet protector to keep your beautiful new duvet in top condition. - 2
Shake when you wake
A vigourous shake each morning will redistribute the filling for an even, plump feel. (Bonus benefit – also a top upper body workout) - 3
Pull back the covers
Keep things healthy by pulling back your duvet to air your bed whilst you’re getting ready for the day. This helps excess moisture to evaporate so your bed stays fresher and cleaner. - 4
Wash
We do not recommend washing this luxurious duvet. Instead air it thoroughly on a regular basis. - 5
Dry
Store your Eiderdown somewhere dry and away from dust. You could use one of our specially-made storage bags or the gift box it arrives in.
